Privacy Policy

MOJ (“Minds of Josiah”, “we”, “us”) is the community app of the church at fbcikeja.org. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Who this app is for

MOJ is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 16, please use MOJ with the awareness and agreement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Information we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, and (optionally) a phone number and profile photo.
• Content you create — notes, journals, saved items, prayer requests, comments, testimonies, questions, event RSVPs, and reading progress.
• Wellbeing check-ins — the mood and any note you choose to submit, and whether you asked a leader to follow up. This is sensitive information and we treat it carefully (see below).
• AI Companion messages — the messages you send to the in-app AI Companion (see “AI Companion”).
• Technical data — a device push-notification token (if you enable notifications) and basic app usage needed to run the service.

How we use your information

• To provide the app’s features and keep your content in sync.
• To let leaders respond when you explicitly ask for a wellbeing follow-up or send a prayer/contact request.
• To send notifications you’ve opted into.
• To keep the community safe — reviewing content that is reported, and enforcing our Terms.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your wellbeing or AI Companion data for advertising or profiling.

AI Companion

The AI Companion is powered by a third-party AI provider, Anthropic (Claude). When you send a message, its text is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate a reply. Your chat history is stored only on your device, not on our servers. Please don’t share sensitive personal information (such as passwords or financial details) in the chat. Anthropic processes the message to produce a response under its own terms; see Anthropic’s privacy policy. AI replies can be inaccurate and are not professional, medical, or crisis advice.

Wellbeing data

Your wellbeing check-ins are visible only to you, unless you tick the box asking a leader to reach out — in which case your check-in and, if you provide it, your phone number are shared with the coordinator(s) who follow up. We never use wellbeing data for marketing or profiling. MOJ is not a medical or crisis service; if you are in danger, please use the emergency and crisis lines shown in the app.

Who we share data with

• Supabase — our backend and database host, which stores your account and content securely.
• Anthropic — processes AI Companion messages (above).
• Expo — delivers push notifications if you enable them.
• Church leaders/coordinators — only see content you make public (e.g. the prayer wall) or that you send to them (contact messages, wellbeing follow-ups you request, testimonies you submit for review).

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our community.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account & security → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, notes, journals, RSVPs, prayers, and other personal content. Some records may be retained where required by law or for safety, and backups clear on their normal cycle. Your choices

• Edit your profile or remove your photo anytime.
• Control notifications in Profile → Notification settings.
• Block members so their content is hidden from you (Profile → Blocked accounts).
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Security

We use reputable providers and industry-standard measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
